The Institute of Living, one of the first mental health centers in the U.S., remains one of America’s leading not-for-profit centers for patient care, research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric and addiction disorder. Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.
Job Summary
In the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs, we treat 11-year-old to 18-year old’s who are still in high school, who present with a variety of diagnoses and at times, complex cases, who are transitioning from a higher level of care or, a preventative treatment to support youth from needing hospitalization. The program is looking for a clinician who has experience in group psychotherapy, individual, and family work. The program works with youth and families to set treatment goals collaboratively. Through group programming, youth can obtain a variety of skills and improve functioning in an environment with peers, providing prosocial experiences. The program works collaboratively with the family of the youth, providing support and family sessions throughout the course of treatment.
The role includes consistent collaboration with a clinical team inclusive of a case worker and medical oversight by a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. The clinician will need to understand insurance approval and reviews, assist with transition to lower levels of care, as well as complete and thorough documentation. Experience with crisis management, high levels of care and acuity as well as serious mental illness is preferred. Opportunities for ongoing training in family work, group processing, trauma informed care and weekly educational Grand Rounds are available.
