Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor: Cardiac Rehabilitation & Fitness Services, the Exercise Instructor is responsible for the overall supervision of the exercise facility. Responsibilities include fitness testing, exercise prescription, exercise instruction and supervision, lifestyle education and counseling, insuring participant safety as well as facilities security and maintenance, and record keeping. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patients- age specific needs and age specific treatment and care.

 

 

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree program in the Exercise Sciences or related field.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as am Exercise leader, Health fitness instructor, or Exercise specialist.
  • Certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross in
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Motivational skills with ability to motivate others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm.
