The Neuro-Hospitalist Services at Hartford HealthCare (HHC) are dedicated to serving patients admitted to the hospital as well as providing consultative services to surgical patients. HHC Neuro-Hospitalists engage in clinical care, teaching, research or leadership in the field of neurology. Our team provides the highest quality medical care for patients who need neurological consults while in the hospital.
Neuro- Hospitalist Advanced Practitioner Role Scope
The Nurse Practitioner (APRN) / Physician Assistant will provide care for the Hartford HealthCare Central Region which includes The Hospital of Central Connecticut, MidState Medical Center, and Bradley Memorial Hospital. Responsibilities will include non-complex initial consults, consult follow-ups, and hospital follow-up care in the outpatient setting. The Advanced Practitioner / Physician Assistant is responsible for the clinical management of patients, assuring timely communication and comprehensive collaboration, and is also responsible for Inpatient Management and Hospital based medical care. The work schedule will be Monday to Friday, normal business hours.

Qualifications
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Basic Education: Master’s degree
Minimum formal training: Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner educational program.
Certification: Certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by a recognized national certifying body required. Any one of the following certifications is acceptable: Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center include the following: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner; Family Nurse Practitioner. Certification through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses include the following: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; Adult Nurse Practitioner. Life Support Certification: ACLS required. Collaboration Agreement: Current agreement that meets the requirements of the General Statutes of Connecticut. Licensure: Current RN and APRN unrestricted licenses to practice in CT, current unrestricted CT Controlled Substance Registration and Federal DEA Registration.
Physician Assistant (PA)
Basic Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Minimum formal training: Successful completion of an accredited PA educational program.
Certification: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
Life Support Certification: ACLS required
PA Supervision and Delegation Agreement: Current agreement that meets the requirements of the General Statutes of Connecticut.
Licensure: Current unrestricted PA license to practice in Connecticut, current unrestricted CT Controlled Substance Registration and Federal DEA Registration.
