Job Summary:
The Lead Ultrasound Technologist performs all aspects of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, gynecologic, small parts, Doppler studies and procedures. The Lead Ultrasound Technologist may require performing procedure in other departments such as O.R., I.R. and on hospital inpatient units. This is an advanced technical position that provides clinical expertise and education to the Ultrasound department, to ensure that a high quality service is delivered in support of the hospital’s strategic plan, and the functions’ according to the policies.  This position is mainly 90-100% clinical and provides oversights for off- shift or off- site. You will also assist with onboarding and training of new hires, as well as  coaching to Ultrasound Tech staff.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – RDMS/ARDMS.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • At least one (3) year experience as an Ultrasound Technologist; including but not limited to: abdominal, renal/aorta, pelvic/transvaginal, breast, carotid doppler, venous doppler-lower/upper extremity, first trimester OB and thyroid.

  • Previous lead experience preferred, but not required.
