JOB SUMMARY
A professional registered nurse responsible for the assessment of educational needs and implementation of an organized program for education directed toward the goal of clinical competence and cost effective patient care of the highest quality. Utilizes the nursing process to develop, implement, and evaluate education for staff, patients, and the community. Serves as a resource and role model in the areas of clinical practice, patient advocacy, and nursing leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education: Graduate of a school of nursing. Master's Degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in a program and on track to complete within four (4) years of hire.
Experience: Five (5) years recent acute care experience. Three (3) years clinical experience in focus area of job responsibility.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire. Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
Keeps abreast of current nursing practices and methodologies for the delivery of patient care.
Demonstrates knowledge of care for required age-specific populations necessary to carry out safe and effective performance of duties.
