Hartford HealthCare, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut, has a new growth opportunity for a Rehab Occupational Health Advanced Practitioner to join our growing team to provide coverage at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, CT.
Some highlights of this opportunity include:
A Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating patients with the guidance of a Medical Doctor. Their duties include prescribing medications, recording patient vital signs, and monitoring diagnostic tests to determine the source of the patient’s symptoms for worker’s compensation; and determining physical clearances based on employment requirements.
Performs diagnostic procedures including physical, neurologic and orthopedic examinations, laboratory tests other procedures when appropriate.
Performs non-urgent procedures such as lacerations, orthopedic, wound care, and make external referrals for medical management when appropriate.
Understanding of medical billing and coding.
Competent in medical documentation and EMR applications.
Knowledgeable in state and federal regulations, OSHA, HIPAA, and others
Experienced in occupational health practices (CME qualifications, drug testing protocols, DOT and non-DOT regulations)

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner/PA program
Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner/PA in the state of Connecticut.
Experience in Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Hospitalist, ER, Urgent Care and Orthopedics a plus.
CT Controlled Substance Registration and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification
