Shift Details: Monday-Friday 2pm-8pm including every other Saturday

The Patient Ambassador is an intricate member to the oncology team functioning as a member of the cancer center staff.  The Patient Ambassador will be focused on customer service, assuring all patients and visitors are welcomed into the center and receive the hospitality needed in order to meet their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and guide patients, caregivers and visitors in the cancer center and medical office building throughout the day as well as during off-hours and during evening events.
  • Acts as a resource for the departments in the cancer center assisting in coordinating the workflow for the patients, vendors and service staff. 
  • Acts as an advocate and liaison for patients and visitors at the time of arrival by greeting guests in a prompt, caring and courteous manner; providing directions or escorting guests to requested areas of the hospital. 
  • Assesses and facilitates appropriate services for the special needs of our patients, caregivers and visitors. 
  • Acts as a resource for the volunteers in the cancer center. 
  • Provides information about programs and services offered at the cancer center and in supporting the ancillary departments.  
  • Assist in the execution of onsite evening events; including coordination of the conference room schedule, setup of tables and chairs in the and clean up after meetings and conferences. 
  • The patient ambassador will be responsible for distributing materials, greeting and tracking visitors as well as answering questions about the facility.  
  • Responsible for opening the cancer center at the beginning of each day as well as/or securing building and final walkthrough of the facility before closing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
A minimum of Three (3) or more years of healthcare setting in a customer service related position required.
