Job Summary:

The Allied Health Instructor, in consultation and collaboration with the department manager provides training, education and development by assessing, planning, developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating courses, programs and projects directed to students, staff and the community. This is provided to ensure individual practitioner competence, program compliance with accreditation standards, sufficient graduates to meet the human resource needs of the hospital and community and a community understanding of healthcare careers.  Reports to the Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Develops and coordinates courses, programs and projects utilizing age appropriate learning methodologies, and effective use of resources (human, material and technological) to meet the learning needs of students (required certification and licensure).

 

  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of students.

 

  • Collaborates/partners with other hospital personnel to provide learning experiences that enhance the basic teaching process.

 

  • Collaborates with academic and other healthcare agencies to facilitate the training, education and development of students and the public.

 

  • Maximizes the potential of the group/individual learner and educational programs by evaluating the effectiveness of instruction and other modalities. this is done through observation, testing, simulations and documentation. Revisions are based on results.

 

  • Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific patient needs (e.g. Pediatrics, Adolescents, Geriatrics.).

 

  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of appropriate clinical program with proper certification and minimum of Associate’s Degree required.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2-4 yrs. recent clinical experience in related field.
