The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.
With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

  1. Research denied claims for services within the Hartford Healthcare Network
  2. Prepare and submit provider appeals to secure payment for rendered services
  3. Validate payer eligibility and authorization requirements through use of payer websites and/or third party software
  4. Identify patterns and report root cause of denials
  5. Prepare and submit provider appeals on behalf of the Hartford Healthcare Network
  6. High Telephone interaction with provider offices, payers and clinical sites
  7. Demonstrated strong research skills and ability to work independently
  8. Daily work is assigned via electronic worklist
  9. Quality and Productivity expectations

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Professional customer service skills
  • Must be able to sit for 90% of the day
  • Proficiency with technology (i.e. Windows, Keyboard, Electronic Fax, Mouse, etc.)
  • Two years of experience in medical or insurance billing
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • EPIC experience a plus
