The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization. With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.
Responsible for supporting Hartford HealthCare and its entities’ Real Estate portfolio.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Lease Administration - Managing the administration of the lease process, including but not limited to: creating and reviewing lease documents, abstracting leases, and other real estate support documents; maintain lease database; generation of database reports, and the tracking/reporting of each lease transaction. Work with the offices of the Legal and Compliance to ensure the appropriate legal and compliance documentation is developed and approved; ensure the appropriate insurance requirements are satisfied
Lease Coordination – Facilitate the completion of all necessary tasks and documents to ensure a properly executed and compliant lease. Responsible for advising business units on business terms of the lease and their financial impact.
Work with key strategic real estate stakeholder departments such as Legal, Risk Mgmt., Finance, Compliance, Tax department, and others
Research- Manage and perform due diligence work including; ludes: market studies and analysis; lease and property research; maintaining and developing relationships with external parties such as landlords and brokers: advising business units on business terms; compiling site surveys; coordinating approval process; working with the Legal department to ensure the appropriate legal document is developed and approved; run reports from the database.
Act as liaison between various Business Units and the Real Estate team
REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS
College Graduate- Associate Degree in related area or would consider Paralegal Certificate plus 3 years of Real Estate Experience in corporate real estate environment in lieu of a degree required.
College Graduate Bachelor Degree or higher preferred
Minimum 5 years of Paralegal Experience with at least 3 years of Corporate Real Estate experience required
Prior Corporate Real Estate or Paralegal experience preferred
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
Strong Excel skills, including the ability to organize data, enter formulas, and create reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of command of Real Estate terminology
Proven ability to provide support to multiple users with varying needs
Proven experience building and maintaining relationships
Strong attention to detail and advanced organizational skills
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks at once
Proven analytical problem solver
Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities
