Job Shift: Shift 1
Shift Details: 16 hrs/mo min requirement. One 8hr shift must occur on weekend, other 8hr shift can be during week or on weekend, pending availability & need. Prefer candidates with holiday availability

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut. We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges. We offer over 30 outpatient locations with a variety of specialists, including oncology, women's health, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language, we are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes. 

 

Join our team and be a part of our state of the art Inpatient Rehab Unit within Hartford Hospital!  All 26 beds are in private inpatient rooms giving our patients access to ongoing acute medical management, 24 hour rehabilitative nursing care and comprehensive therapy sessions.  The Inpatient Rehab Unit utilizes the latest rehab technologies, including an Eksobionics EksoNR, RT300, Bioness L300Go, Bioness Integrated Therapy System, and many more. We highly encourage the use of evidenced based best practice coupled with a comprehensive team approach to allow our patients a quicker and healthier return home. We provide high quality, patient centered, coordinated care as demonstrated by our outcomes consistently exceeding regional and national benchmarks.

Overview

Inpatient Rehab is seeking a dedicated and caring Physical Therapist (PT) to be part of a team that brings decades of experience in providing the most innovative care. This position will treat patients with all diagnoses with a focus on neurological conditions, including stroke and traumatic brain injury, as well as complex medical and orthopedic patients. Our unit features a collaborative interdisciplinary team atmosphere and approach to patient care. This is a great opportunity to work in a specialized inpatient rehab setting, while still having access to the opportunities and benefits available in a system with a full continuum of rehab care.

Position Description

The Physical Therapist (PT) independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction. This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence. Evaluation involves strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living. There is frequent collaboration amongst the multidisciplinary team and close teamwork required to provide maximum benefit to the patients we serve.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • PT experience required, inpatient rehabilitation experience highly preferred.
  • Graduate of Physical Therapy Program from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association school, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Doctorate.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) required.
