Hartford Hospital
Hartford Hospital was founded in 1854. It is one of the largest academic centers in the northeast and is affiliated with the University of Connecticut Medical School and Quinnipiac University School of Medicine, serving the New England region. Hartford Hospital, the region's first Level 1 Trauma Center and the second largest surgical hospital in the northeast, performed the first successful heart transplant in the state, and operates the state’s first air ambulance system, LIFE STAR. Hartford Hospital is also home to the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world.
