Job Shift: Shift 1
Shift Details: Day shift. 3-4 days a week,

Reporting to the Program Director and in collaboration with the Hospital of Central Connecticut’s Medical Director and Clinical Nurse Manager, the APRN Wound Care is a member of the Wound Care Center’s Clinical Team.  They will manage a daily caseload of outpatient wound care patients, including the supervision of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, (HBO) patients.  In additional, they will clinically manage and promote the Limb Preservation Program, including outreach within the central region.

Responsibilities:

Provides comprehensive medical care to patients within the Wound Care Centers at both the New Britain and Bristol Campus.  Including, but not limited to, assessment, comprehensive wound evaluation, interpretation of diagnostic data, surgical debridement, coordination of patient plans of care and patient and caregiver education in accordance with all Healogics Clinical Services and hospital policies and procedures:

  • Maintain all clinical yearly education as required by the Wound Care Center.
  • Collaborates with other health care providers and acts as a patient advocate
  • Performs and/or participates in surgical procedures as needed
  •  Assists the Program Director in the development and operation of the outreach component business unit,
  • Clinical advocate and medical management of the Limb Preservation Program
  • Participates in hospital staff and community wound education programs, including the monthly system wide Wound Council. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned or necessary

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

CT APRN license. UPIN number or eligibility.

3-5 years of clinical experience in Wound Care 

Wound Care Certification desirable.

Maintains a current and valid CT Driver’s License.

Critical Success Factors:

Experience in wound care. Self-motivated and directed in the management of patient care. Able to perform in an entrepreneurial setting by taking ownership in the service line. Excellent time management skills. Independent problem solving skills. Highly effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
