Shift Details: Hours are 10:30 pm - 7 am

Job Summary:

Provides support to Peri-operative and Sterile Processing Services (SPS) by building and maintaining instrument tray count sheets, essential for tray accuracy and pick lists, and ensures that each case contains all required items. Interfaces directly with vendor representatives. Utilizes available software programs to track all loaner/vendor trays and ensures delivery for cases in an efficient and timely manner. Immediately escalates issues/concerns to Shift Lead.

 

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinates with suppliers, vendors and SPS leadership to provide new tray/item in-services to SPS staff.
  • Works with OR and SPD leadership to ensure Tray Weights and Configurations meet standards as required by AAMI.
  • Produces monthly reports detailing vendor representatives’ compliance with Loaner/Vendor Tray delivery policy.
  • Works with Sterile Processing Services Leadership in addressing issues with Printers/Zebra/SPM such as adding or removing staff members, editing staff access and troubleshooting hardware/software issues as they arise.
  • Provides regular reports to both Sterile Processing and Operating Room Leadership on incomplete trays, missing items, inventory levels and preventative maintenance schedule to ensure the condition and availability of needed surgical instruments.
  • Orders department consumables as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of SPS experience
  • Current "Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification" from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc.(CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English required.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must obtain a minimum of 10 CEU’s (continuous education units) per year.
  • Working knowledge of SPM, EPIC, and Microsoft Office
