Job Schedule: Part Time
Standard Hours: 36
Job Shift: Shift 1
Shift Details: This position consists of 3 twelve hour shifts. No weekends. Some holidays required.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of routine and complex diagnostic tests on blood and body fluids as prescribed by healthcare providers. All procedures are performed according to department procedures and protocols and within at least two (2) lab sections. Requires capable organizing skills for processing large volumes of tests. Utilizes knowledge of medical theories and procedures as required within the Laboratory. Ability to work in a computerized Laboratory.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
B.S. in one of the chemical, physical, and biological sciences.


Experience: One (1) to two (2) years experience.


License and Certification: Obtain MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification within twelve (12) months of date of hire.

 
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Education:
B.S. in Medical Technology.


Experience: Three (3)+ years of experience preferred.


License and Certification: MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification upon hire.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
Works efficiently and organizes time appropriately. The ability to prioritize daily work assignments. Computer knowledge to order to enter/retrieve data. Able to assist in the implementation of processes/procedures to enhance laboratory services.

Requires high level of analytical ability in order to gather, analyze and interpret information from various sources.
