For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. Job Summary
The Pharmacist performs functions related to the control, monitoring and dispensing of medications for all age groups of patients according to department procedures and protocols in a safe, cost effective, and timely manner. Supervises medication preparation by pharmacy technicians and advises nursing personnel regarding appropriate medication administration. The Pharmacist promotes the rational use of medications via provision of drug information and clinical monitoring services to members of the medical community.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college of pharmacy. PharmD strongly preferred

Experience:
Prior Hospital pharmacy experience.

License and Certification:
Licensed as a registered Pharmacist in Connecticut or eligible to receive licensure within 45 days.
