WOUND CARE MEDICAL DIRECTOR

St. Vincent’s Medical Center

St. Vincent’s Medical Center (SVMC) seeks a dynamic Wound Care Medical Director to provide clinical and strategic direction for an expanding Surgery Department. This position affords a clinically active and visionary leader the opportunity to oversee the Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine Center. SVMC is a 473-bed hospital located in Bridgeport, CT affiliated with Hartford HealthCare, a $4 billion health system and the second largest employer in CT.

Reporting to the Chief of Surgery, The Wound Care Medical Director will:

  • Oversee hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) and provide oversight of wound care providers including physicians, podiatrists and advanced practice providers.
  • Work closely and partner with engaged subspecialists
  • Oversee the quality of medical care provided by credentialed physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the provision of patient care
  • Implement new services and treatments in accordance with the needs and objectives of the center
  • We support your development and wellbeing through the respected HHC Physician Leadership Development Institute and the groundbreaking Office of Provider Wellness

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an innovative, collaborative BC/BE physician leader with demonstrated clinical skills in the provision of Wound Care & Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy services.
  • Diplomate, American Board of Wound Management (Certified Wound Specialist) and Diplomate, American Board of Preventive Medicine (subspecialty – Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine or American College of Hyperbaric Medicine) preferred.
  • Five years of Wound Care experience in an acute setting with demonstrated clinical leadership skills preferred.
