Job Shift: Shift 1
Shift Details: Provide day shift, evening shift, or weekend coverage for regular Windham ED crisis clinicians when they are out on PTO or ill.

Job Summary

Under the administrative direction of the Manager of Case Management, the Clinical/Psychologist functions in the Emergency Room, under the authority of physicians, to provide evaluation and appropriate discharge planning of emergency room patients with mental health and/or substance abuse issues according to hospital and governmental regulatory policies. On an as needed basis will assist Case Management Department in providing appropriate discharge planning, social services and psychologist services to hospital staff, inpatients, outpatients and community according to the need of age specific categories of patients (neonates, infants, child, adolescents, adults, and older adult) according to hospital and governmental regulatory policies. 

Qualifications

  • Current Connecticut State License as LCSW
  • MSW (LCSW) or PhD clinical psychologist from accredited institution.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding range of psychosocial and discharge planning services needed by hospital patients and families of all ages and stages of growth and development.
  • Ability to obtain and interpret information relevant to patient and staff needs.
