Job Summary:

Develops and maintains excellent working relationships and serves as liaison between Hartford Hospital (HH) and new/existing associated physicians (HH Medical Staff), their practice managers and office staff for the purpose of increasing physician satisfaction.  Facilitate onboarding and acclimating physicians and their staff to the Hospital and health system.  Assists them in navigating to services that will meet their patients’ needs and to develop appropriate contacts across the hospital and health system.  Identifies and collaborates with hospital leadership to resolve physician concerns and problems.  Monitors and works to ensure physician satisfaction with services provided. 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Help strengthen the relationship between physicians and the hospital by being accessible and maintaining an open line of communication with physicians and their practice managers. 
  1. Facilitate onboarding of new physicians into the hospital by overseeing New Physician Orientations. Work with department chiefs to: provide assistance and training in the hospital’s software applications; provide hospital tours; arrange for security badge; and arrange meetings with administrators, relevant department teams and other physician.
  1. Build trust, collaboration and communication.  Serves as liaison between and works with hospital leadership and physician practices, to communicate and resolve operational and service issues identified by physicians.  Works to enhance relationships, identify system or process barriers, identify root cause of issues and explore opportunities for improvement.  Follow up with physicians as to resolution of the issues.
  1. Help community healthcare providers interface with Hospital, continually asses customer needs, and provide hospital departments with customer feedback that is necessary to enhance, adjust or add new services.  Helps internal leaders/staff to understand the critical role they play in physician satisfaction.
  1. Develops/maintains own knowledge of hospital and health system, and information resources needed to assist physicians and their staff in navigating to appropriate area(s) in order to answer questions or escalate concerns.
  1. Identify physicians desiring a physician mentor and help connect them with one.
  1. Analyzes physician satisfaction survey results and assists Medical Staff President in developing and implementing strategies to address concerns. 
  1. Coordinate with Physicians Liaisons in Marketing to take specialists out to meet PCPs in the community.  Partner with Physician Liaisons to seek feedback from physicians and office managers / follow up with solutions to any complaints. 
  1. Create and maintain a column in Seymour Street Journal.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a field related to healthcare management, public relations and/or communications.

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.

 

  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record required.
