Hartford HealthCare (HHC) Cancer Institute is a fully certified member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Alliance. The MSK Cancer Alliance is an initiative designed to establish partnerships between MSK and local care providers. Through the open collaboration that is facilitated by these partnerships, community cancer caregivers are in a better position to provide state of the art, evidence-based cancer care to improve the lives of cancer patients. Advanced Practitioner Role Scope 

 

Advanced practitioners will provide value based care in an ambulatory setting, and will be involved in triage and the spectrum of outpatient management: urgent visits, chemotherapy pre-treatment visits, follow up appointments, and ongoing survivorship care. An understanding of clinical trials and the ability to monitor patients on protocol is an advantage. Hartford HealthCare’s unique relationship with Memorial Sloan Kettering can offer opportunities for professional advancement.  Our ideal candidate will have skills and training in assessment and management of the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and social needs of the patient and family.  Candidates should have a demonstrated ability of positive interaction with the medical/nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Qualifications

Advanced Practitioner Qualifications  

 

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) /  Nurse Practitioner in the state of Connecticut
• Certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Oncology Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP)
• Oncology and infusion experience strongly preferred
