St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200  employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.


Job Summary: 


  • In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, The Site Supervisor ensures that high quality, cost effective services are delivered in support of the organization’s strategic plan, goals and objectives. The Site Supervisor also manages site resources; human, material, and financial, in order to ensure the cost-effective delivery of patient services for specific patient populations who require the needs of outpatient physical therapy.  This is accomplished either by direct action, delegation or coaching and support of self-directed work teams or individuals

Job Responsibilities: 


  • Direct on-site staff and activities of the team to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration.  Oversee daily functions of rehab staff, service representatives, and operations of the site. Demonstrates characteristics and independent thinking that reflect a commitment to exceptional customer services and the achievement of overall company strategic goals. 
  • Responsible for maintaining site compliance with setting policies and procedures, and remains within standards set by accrediting bodies such as Joint Commission and DPH 
  • Assesses staff performance of expectations; coaches, mentors, develops and evaluates employees to achieve behaviors congruent with the organization's vision, mission and values, in a continuous learning environment.
  • Uses the components of H3W Lean Daily Management to surpass a standard of excellence, build efficiencies in processes and innovate new and creative ways to improve the work.
  • Acts quickly to resolve customer, patient, and client problems or complaints employing sound judgment and adherence to organizational policies.
  • Provides meaningful and individualized recognition and ensures that employees and self are committed to HHC’s vision, values, Leadership Behaviors and are motivated to contribute to organizational success.
  • Coordinates resources and people productively and efficiently to accomplish work and achieve goals and holds self and others accountable for achieving timely results and outcomes.  Supports Regional Director in formulating and managing budgets, data capture, and outcomes measures.  
  • Speaks, listens, conveys and shares ideas in a clear, logical and professional manner.
  • In collaboration with Director, establishes, develops, and maintains effective relationships, working agreements, and quality partnerships to secure resources to support patient care and to assure compliance with current standards relevant to the patient population.
  • Takes initiative to energize stakeholders and sustain their commitment to changes in approaches, processes, and strategies
  • Participates in community and marketing activities. Promotes practice through development of effective physician relationships.

  • Performs other related duties as needed or assigned, covers needs throughout the region and within the system as necessary.  

Key Areas of Responsibility – Direct Patient Care  

  • Balances direct patient care responsibilities of role with administrative functions.
  • Independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain. Operates within scope of practice to address physical dysfunction utilizing evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise, manual therapy, and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence.  Evaluation involves strength, motor control, joint mobility, neurological function, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, psychosocial factors, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living.


Qualifications

Requirements:


Education:  

Bachelor’s Degree and/or appropriate certifications



Master’s or Doctorate degree

Experience:  

5 years in the field, with 2-3 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting.Therapy manager or coordinator role, outpatient setting.

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapist License in the state of CT.

Manual therapy and proficiency in spine and neurological disorders.

Language Skills:

Strong communication skills required – both verbal and written




Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint as well as electronic health records and other software applications
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal direction
  • Leadership, mentoring, and motivational skills
  • History of strong leadership and clinical skills
  • Ability to apply Lean operational principles
  • Strong sense of professionalism and effective communication skills
  • Commitment to quality, evidenced based care, and client experience
