Job Summary

  • Represents THOCC and MidState Medical Center at EMS activities, professional meetings, and community activities.   Goal is to develop and grow business opportunities within the region, engage EMS agencies to assure strong allegiance to hospitals, and grow opportunities to improve resource management of EMS agencies into and out of the Central Region hospitals.
  • Working with the EMS coordinator to develop educational opportunities into primary service area and peripheral markets.
  • Maintain constant communication with primary EMS agencies, looking to further develop pre-hospital coordination.
  • Working alongside the EMS Coordinator, system EMS director, and Central Region leadership to identify challenges and opportunities to better improve clinical relationship between EMS agencies and clinical teams within the Central Region.
  • Maintain working knowledge of market changes and regional EMS needs.
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to continually improve relationships with public and pre-hospital providers.
  • Actively work with clinical and support teams to identify opportunities to utilize EMS to improve patient throughput and non-911 transport.  
  • Participate as a team member with EMS Coordinator in all EMS – based functions.  
  • Along with EMS Coordinator, represent the Central Region facilities at related community and EMS activities.
  • Serve on and attend meetings related to Hartford HealthCare EMS Council.  
  • Act as a resource person for EMS, administrative, medical, and nursing personnel in maintaining current knowledge of local, regional, and national EMS issues.
  • Displays and upholds HHC core values.  Consistently demonstrates respect for others and caring for patients, co-workers, and for the organization they are part of, and contributes to building trust, pride and camaraderie.
  • Perform other related duties as required


  • Extensive knowledge and experience in regional EMS network and state of Connecticut EMS matters. 
  • Working knowledge of philosophies, policies, procedures, legalities, and technicalities of both the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system and the hospital health centers.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
