Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.
The Division of Neuropsychology enjoys active involvement in the hospital’s rich history of training and provision of excellent care. All faculty members participate in the training and development of externs, pre-doctoral interns, and post-doctoral fellows through involvement in the Institute of Living’s APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship and supervision of fellows in our APPCN-accredited fellowship. As such, the ideal candidate will have a keen interest and desire to participate in teaching activities and supervision of students at all levels of training.
Program Summery
The Chase Family Movement Disorders Centers provide evidence-based clinical care to patients with Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders, which enhances quality of life and extends longevity. Primary services will be provided by neurology, neuropsychology, neurosurgery, and many other disciplines contingent on patient need. Participation in research activities is not required but encouraged and supported through opportunities for hospital supported early career grants and funding to attend conferences for presenting research.
Job Summary
Primary responsibilities include provide neuropsychological evaluations/consultations for patients across a wide-range of movement disorders, including but not limited to, Parkinson’s disease, Atypical & Secondary Parkinsonism, Essential Tremor, Dystonia, Huntington’s disease, Tics & Tourette syndrome, with the purpose of establishing baselines of cognitive and emotional status, providing serial assessments to monitor for the progression of cognitive decline, performing pre- and post-surgical evaluations for candidacy for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and DUOPA, assisting with diagnostic clarification, staging of cognitive impairment/dementia, identifying the need for intervention/supports, and long-term care planning. Preliminary feedback is given at the time of the evaluation, with additional in-person/phone feedback provided on a case-by-case basis. Participation in monthly multidisciplinary case conferences and clinical council meetings is also expected.
