Position Details:

Hartford HealthCare St. Vincent’s Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their Vascular Surgery team! The Physician Assistant will have the opportunity to expand their surgery skills as they provide OR coverage in general, trauma, and other surgical subspecialties! Responsibilities include frequent first-assisting in the OR, rounding on patients, and inpatient and ED consults.   

Role: Physician Assistant

Location:  2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, 06606

Setting: Inpatient, vascular surgery

Schedule:  Full-time (40 hours) Monday-Friday day shifts.

Call schedule: No call

Physician Assistants Role Scope:

Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Physician Assistants perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients. 

In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Physician Assistants develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. 

Physician Assistants provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Training: Physician Assistant
  • Experience: 1+ years as a Physician Assistant in a surgery setting
