JOB SUMMARY

In addition to performing the duties and responsibilities of a full time Staff Perfusionist, the Perfusion Lead Clinical/Didactic Educator supports and implements the educational activities and operations of the didactic and clinical Perfusion Students as well as the Hartford Hospital Cardiac Anesthesia Fellows.

Education

• BS and Certificate in Cardiovascular Perfusion

Experience

• 3 years

Licensure, Certification, Registration

• CT Perfusion License, ABCP Certified, BLS Certified

Preferred Requirements

Education

• MHS in Cardiovascular Perfusion

Experience

• 3+ years

Licensure, Certification, Registration

• CT Perfusion License, ABCP Certified, BLS Certified

 

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements 

• One (1) year experience in an instructional/teaching capacity with adults; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Must be self-reliant; takes initiative; results-oriented, open minded and approachable.
• Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently (oral and written).
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of theory and practice for cardiovascular perfusion procedures.
• Demonstrated technical competence congruent with perfusion procedures and services.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and train staff and students; and to develop and implement training plans.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with other health care professionals and with students, educators, patients and families.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with co-workers, medical personnel, other health care staff and students, both individually and in groups.
• Ability to organize and establish workload priorities and to coordinate a variety of programs and issues.
• Demonstrated ability to develop training and instructional materials and evaluation tools.
• Demonstrated ability to critically appraise research evidence
