St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.

Job Summary:

  • Organizes and coordinates the activities and flow of work for patients having special or multiple procedures.
  • Coordinates patient flow with appropriate staff.
  • Ensures patient's previous studies are available for review, and follows up on patient's post care.
  • Facilitates add on procedures for the day.
  • Performs the duties of a radiology technologist as needed.
  • Responsible for work related issues regarding assigned personnel. Ie: Staffing, work methods, scheduling, morale, discipline and safety, productivity and quality of service.
  • Participate in a variety of teaching activities and mentoring of radiography students.
  • Assumes responsibility for Performance improvement activities, data collection monthly reports as assigned. Verifies/authenticates employee time sheets as assigned.
  • Able to perform on all age groups from infant to adult geriatric.
  • Ensure appropriateness of procedure by reviewing the radiology order placed prior to performing exam.
  • Assures department meets JACHO, State, ACR, regulatory agency requirements.
  • Other Duties as assigned


Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Required Credential(s):

  • Licensed Radiology Technician specializing in Radiology credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Credential(s):

  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross.


  • A.S. Radiology Bachelors Preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience.
