It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. Job Summary

Nursing students who have completed one semester of clinical experience can work up to full-time in the specialty area of their choice. Our student nursing technician program provides outstanding opportunities for student nurses to enhance their clinical skills.

Working under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, you will collect, report, and record patient data, and also assist patients with activities of daily living.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Nursing Students perform basic patient care activities to patients in assigned area

  • Assists with treatments ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living
  • Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff
  • Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
  • Facilitating timely and individualized care of assigned patients
  • Adheres to organizational safety practices and standards.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of 2nd year (sophomore) of a 4 year baccalaureate nursing program (BSN) or completion of the 1st year of a 2 year associate of nursing program (ASN) required
  • Required Credential(s) - One or more of the following:
    • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
