Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of Manager of Surgical Services, the surgical supply coordinator is responsible for maintaining, controlling and ordering all supplies utilized by the surgical suite. This includes but is not limited to developing, establishing and maintaining inventory control systems, efficient par levels, reordering points and benchmarking analysis. He/she assesses and adjusts inventory levels by accurately analyzing usage of surgical supplies within the departments for which he/she is responsible. He/she needs to communicate effectively with vendors, physicians and hospital staff while working to standardize products within the OR. He/she actively participates as a member of the Value Analysis Team and any other subcommittees as needed. He/she attends Surgical Division meetings as needed to address appropriate issues.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of one year’s experience in surgery, stockroom and inventory management, including establishment of par levels and reorder points preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Certification in appropriate field preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree required. Experience and education may be considered in lieu of a 4 year degree. Experience with computerized materials management system is preferred. Familiarity with surgical products preferred.
