Job Summary

The Fund Development Associate will: (1) provide administrative and clerical support to the Manager of Philanthropy and Community Benefits, and to the Director of Development & Philanthropy; (2) assist the Rushford Foundation Board and Natchaug Development Committee, volunteers and prospects as needed; (3) provide consistent and timely database coordination of all activities; (4) provide fundraising event coordination and support; (5) provide administrative support for grant writing activities; (6) perform standard administrative support activities.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Arrange for Rushford Foundation Board and Natchaug Development Committee meeting needs including development and distribution of notices, agendas, and minutes.
  2. Manage all department meeting logistics including, but not limited to, setting up meetings, preparing agenda, ordering food, taking minutes, completing reports.
  3. Provide administrative support for events helping to ensure that events are extraordinary and showcase programs and services in a way that will continue to bring long-term financial support; Assist in all logistics including, but not limited to, the review and selection of venues, caterers, florists, photographers, valet, scheduling of speakers etc.;  Help manage all marketing materials including invitation and recognition items. 
  4. Provide donor research, creating donor files on prospects.
  5. Enter and manage accuracy of gift activity into database; Set up gift and pledge information in system; Update, manage and run computer reports on a monthly basis.
  6. Recruit and train employee volunteers for events and act as point of contact and liaison for volunteers on event day.
  7. Provide research on new and well-aligned grant funding opportunities.
  8. Gather and record information from departments at Natchaug and Rushford regarding their solicitations of corporate and foundation funders.
  9. Answer incoming phone calls and assist callers in a courteous manner and take initiative in following up on those calls if needed; pick up, sort and distribute the mail.
  10. Provide assistance with events outside normally scheduled hours as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of one to three years' administrative services experience
  • Administrative services in a healthcare environment is preferred
  • Fundraising experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
