Through the bi-directional collaboration facilitated by this partnership, community providers are better positioned to provide state-of-the-art, evidence-based cancer care to improve the lives of cancer patients. The Lead Patient Service Representative in our Cancer Center is responsible for the day to day operations of the front desk staff while providing outstanding and professional customer service to ensure efficiency and promote a positive patient experience. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to:
         

  • Provides directly daily oversight of clerical staff, including scheduling, lunch coverage and coverage of off sites. 
  • In collaboration with department manager, implements and oversees standards of operations, ensures policies and procedures are followed, ensures tasks are completed, and ensures documentation is done properly.
  • Plans, implements, and teaches corrective actions with the department manager as needed.
  • In collaboration with department manager, identifies opportunities for improvement and oversees implementation plans for improvement.
  • Provides feedback and input for yearly performance evaluations.
  • Serves as a mentor for other employees and shows a willingness to share knowledge, experience and successes.  Provides a continuous learning environment and oversees orientation of new clerical staff.
  • Monitor and help coordinate the efforts of the group to ensure production is consistent and service levels are of the highest quality and maintained. 

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
• 5 years Experience in a fast-paced medical office

• Epic experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of insurance requirements
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Basic working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to travel independently to satellite offices with or without advanced notice.
